@ShockWave Tutoring kids does count as an extracurricular. Any activity you do outside of school is considered to be an extracurricular
Yeah, it wouldn’t count as extracurricular but you have shown that you are an enterprising person. If you teach them for free or not wouldn’t make a difference so please don’t do it for free, you will just waste your own time. However, if you teach underprivileged students for free this would make a difference to your profile and that would come under social service. You are much more likely to get in if you teach underprivileged students not regular privileged students.
you can put it in the community service column in common app and describe it.
