I’m so determined to study in America but I have no idea where to start. It’s all so confusing but I’ve been looking up finical aid and things like that but it makes no sense to me? please help???

A.L. Productions Id get GCSEs good enough to be able to do A levels. The universities will be far more likely if you get through some A levels as A levels are quite a lot harder than the American equivalent (Advanced Placement courses).

I’ve just finished my gcses so I have two years to decide about uni. I’d love to study in America but I have no idea where to start. Is there any help/ websites I could be looking at in advance before i start my a levels?

I am from England and I would love to go to a uni in the USA because I love the USA and education seems good there. I loved the look of UCLA but the price is what’s putting me off☹️ did you get any loans or grants? I’m doing my GCSEs in two weeks so I have a few years to plan for uni though. Great video too!

@Leo Armitage you can do a year abroad and pay the same amount as you pay for a year of UK uni, sometimes cheaper. Look at uni’s in the UK with study abroad options , Hertfordshire uni , Kent uni , surrey uni , Leeds met , royal Holloway just to name a few

It was monthly, and quite expensive because on campus is such a good location, for a similar cost you can get more for your money but being slightly further away / a cheap bus ride away which is why I encourage you to do your research for what is available around your campus!

The drinking age is something we all hate and disagree with, I’m 30 now and I still don’t agree with the law. I was in the military when I was 18 and was stationed in the UK so I was able to drink at that age anyway, but when I moved to other bases I had to watch our new guys get left behind as the rest of the guys go have some fun. It’s ridiculous that they could potentially die for their country but they can’t drink with their brothers!

I was wondering, to study a subject at university in the US. Do I need it at A level? For example, art? Because, I can’t take Art GCSE due to complications at school, can I do Art in America without GCSE or A level Art? I’d love to study in America and it’s between Art or Medicine.
    I’m only in year 10

I hear lots of foreign visitors talk about how friendly Americans are. In fact, I’ve been all over the world and I’ve found that most places are equally friendly, in one form or another. The British especially: I’ve found them to be uniformly warm and inviting. In fact, the only people I’ve encountered who have been less that friendly are the Japanese, who can be a bit standoffish until you get to know them (then they’ll be your best friends for life), and the Parisians, who are cold and rude, down to every man, woman, and child.

Brits are polite because we have been raised and taught to be so.
That doesn’t mean we are friendly, we are just polite to those we don’t know.
We could hate someone but you would never know.
But I’m happy you enjoyed your experience.

If you are attending university in America and find the course work easy, then you’re not taking the right classes. I guarantee you, if you really want to take challenging classes, American universities will give you more than you can handle.

Harry If you can, I would definitely recommend it. I had the most amazing year. I suppose it depends on where you go as the US is huge, but I wouldn’t change it for the world. Just be careful with financing stuff, unless you get the SFE “travel grant” it can be really expensive to go to the US with flights, medical insurance, visa costs, accommodation costs etc etc. The whole process of getting everything sorted can be quite daunting and confusing, but there’ll be loads of support available especially from your uni. Go for it!!

Im looking into studying somewhere in the US and I’m from the UK. Its all soo confusing, do you need a lot of money and how much around? or can people help out with like the financial side of things?

    1. ItssCammiTV

It depends completely on which university you attend but most of the fees you pay will come with a meal plan, tuition & housing etc. Plus you can apply for plenty of scholarships & get financial aid

Oh my goodness this was so brilliant, the little scenario bits were so funny! Definitely agree about the money thing, when I’m at UBC I want to travel so much so need so much more money than I have now haha! xx
